Your booking with Bravofly

What happens when I authorize the payment for my booking?

When you authorize the payment for the flight you have reserved, our booking system blocks your card's credit celing for the amount due for the reservation. In other words, the amount due is “frozen” - BUT NOT DEBITED - on your credit card.

This allows us to purchase the booked flight from the airline having a sort of guarantee on the part of the customer: we handle thousands of bookings everyday, therefore it would be impossible for us to anticipate the payment for every customer.

Anyway, the freeze of your credit card's ceiling constitutes a guarantee for you as well, since NOT EVEN 1 EURO is debited on your credit card before the booking is comfirmed by the airline.

After you have authorized the payment, the following may happen:

  1. the airline immediately confirms the flight: in this case the transaction is completed and your booking is confirmed at the same time.
  2. the airline doesn't immediately confirm your flight reservation, due to temporary inefficiency: in this case the credit freeze permits to hold the reservation even when the airline is temporary ineffiecient, so that the booking can be completed later.
  3. the flight is not confirmed because the rate you have chosen sold out in the short interval between the online purchase and the purchase at the airline's premises: in this case we send you a message to inform you that the rate has changed and we IMMEDIATELY unfreeze the credit.
Our bank automatically unblocks the amount, but unfortunately the actual time necessary to release the sum has nothing to do with Volagratis or Bravofly, but depends on the companies (for example, VISA clients shall wait 15 days).
